İzmir Özel Türk Koleji Sustainability Purpose
İzmir Özel Türk Koleji aims to raise individuals who are environmentally sensitive, socially responsible, and who have adopted ethical values. By taking universal sustainability goals into consideration, we prepare our students for the future as conscious actors. In this process, we work for a sustainable future by contributing to the empowerment of individuals and communities. Within the scope of İTK values, we move forward with a vision that reinforces a sense of responsibility toward our students and society.
Health and Well-being
Purpose: To improve the health and well-being of all people.
To instill healthy lifestyle habits in our students and support them in protecting their physical and mental health. To ensure that individuals protect their physical and mental health by adopting healthy living standards.
Educational Approach
Purpose: To provide inclusive and equitable quality education and increase lifelong learning opportunities.
To raise individuals with critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills by providing quality education. To bring students together with the diversity of art and develop their creativity; to instill awareness that artistic activities contribute to sustainability. To develop creativity through art and increase aesthetic sensitivity, thereby shaping well-rounded individuals.
Social Justice and Participation
Purpose: To reduce inequalities within and among countries.
To create a society in which every individual has equal rights; to encourage our students to take an active role in social responsibility projects and develop social awareness. To aim to ensure social justice and increase social participation by reducing inequalities.
Sustainable Cities and Communities
Purpose: To create sustainable cities and settlements.
To increase sensitivity to the local environment and prepare our students for sustainable cities and communities.
Discipline and Responsibility
Purpose: To encourage sustainable consumption and production habits.
To develop a sense of responsibility and discipline in our students and ensure that they adopt sustainable consumption and production practices. To reinforce individuals’ sense of responsibility and enable them to adopt sustainable behaviors.
Environmental Awareness and Responsibility
Purpose: To combat climate change and reduce its impacts.
To teach students sustainable living practices by increasing environmental awareness and respect for nature. To ensure that individuals gain sensitivity to environmental threats and develop sustainable solutions.
Democracy and Ethical Values
Purpose: To build peaceful and inclusive societies, ensure justice for all, and develop effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions.
To raise individuals who understand and internalize secularism, democracy, and ethical values; to ensure that students, as conscious citizens, respect social values. To encourage the adoption of democratic values and ethical principles and raise responsible individuals in society.
