Developmental Guidance Studies
In preschool PDR practices, the Developmental Guidance Model is predominant. This model approaches the child as a whole and focuses on supporting age-appropriate development across cognitive, emotional, social, and physical domains within the normal developmental process.

Orientation Studies
During the first days of school, activities are carried out to enhance students’ adaptation to school. Parents are also informed about how to support their children during this period.

Orientation Memory Cards
Our orientation memory cards, illustrated around our social skills education mascot cat “Patik,” created by psychologists from the İTK PDR Department, support young students in adapting to school and developing daily routines.

Orientation Frequently Asked Questions and Answers Booklet
Prepared to accelerate school adaptation for young students and their parents, ensure a healthy process, and strengthen parent collaboration, this Q&A booklet serves as a practical reference guide for families.

İTK-Specific Social Skills Education Program and Mascot Cat Patik
In our preschools, an original Social Skills Education Program prepared by İTK psychologists is offered to support children’s holistic well-being. The program progresses through stories developed by İTK preschool psychologists and brought to life by our lovable character Patik. Throughout this journey, children learn essential social skills such as saying “no,” privacy awareness, table manners, peer relationships, and emotion regulation in a natural and enjoyable way.

Student Assessment Studies
Individual interviews are conducted with students. To better understand them, individual scales and tests are administered and reported. Students are observed during PDR classroom activities and play processes. Evaluations are carried out collaboratively with teachers.

PDR Tests, Scales, and Reporting Studies
Frostig Developmental Visual Perception Test
The Frostig Visual Perception Test, which requires specialized expertise, is administered to our 5-year-old students by school psychologists. Children learn reading, writing, arithmetic, and other skills necessary for academic success through their visual perception abilities.
Sources of visual perception difficulties include challenges in discrimination, differentiation, memory, and interpretation of visual stimuli. In young children, these may appear as difficulty forming geometric shapes, confusion between figure and background, object substitution, and challenges with orientation.
Based on test results, both group and individual activities are planned to support children’s readiness levels in a positive way.
Denver Developmental Screening Test
Standardized assessment tools are used in our preschools to closely monitor children’s developmental processes. With the Denver Developmental Screening Test, children’s development in motor, language, cognitive, and personal-social areas is evaluated, and individualized recommendations are reported and shared with parents.
Social Skills Scale
Through the Social Skills Scale, observation-based data is obtained regarding students’ peer relationships, communication, and social adaptation skills. These assessments support the identification of children’s strengths and areas needing support and help create a developmental roadmap in collaboration with families.
