Trees play an important role in combating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This is directly related to İTK’s values of environmental awareness and respect for nature. By purifying the air, trees provide our students with a healthy living environment. Through afforestation projects, our school increases environmental sensitivity and encourages students’ contributions to the protection of nature.

Afforestation supports ecosystem balance by increasing biodiversity. The habitats provided by trees are of vital importance for many species, including winter shelter. Trees also play a significant role in the water cycle. Their root systems prevent soil erosion and support agricultural productivity.

Green areas strengthen social bonds and positively affect individuals’ mental health. Afforestation projects both reinforce community solidarity and contribute to individuals’ psychological well-being.

As İzmir Özel Türk Koleji, we aim to enhance environmental sustainability, raise conscious generations, and improve the quality of social life by supporting afforestation activities. Emphasizing the importance of afforestation in order to live in harmony with nature and leave a healthier world to future generations aligns with İTK’s core values.
