Viewing mathematics not only as a field of science but also as a way of thinking that gives meaning to life, Tatış implemented innovative educational approaches aimed at developing students’ analytical thinking skills.

In addition to his role as an educator, he led various initiatives across Türkiye to promote mathematical awareness and to discover young talents in this field. The traditional mathematics competition bearing his name stands out as a prestigious platform where students showcase their mathematical creativity and develop scientific thinking skills.

Launched in 2009, the Bahattin Tatış Mathematics Competition aims to instill a passion for mathematics in younger generations and strengthen students’ analytical thinking abilities. Although the competition could not be held in 2020, 2021, and 2022 due to the pandemic, it never lost its spirit or excitement. As of 2023, the event has once again brought students together and continues as a true celebration of science.
