LIFE AT İTK
Sports
With a clear awareness of the positive effects of sports and physical activity on human health, we encourage our students to take part in sports activities. Through our education model integrated with sports, we aim to help students develop an ethical, disciplined and balanced outlook that they can sustain throughout their lives.
Active in many different branches such as volleyball, basketball, handball, swimming, sailing, athletics and gymnastics, Türk Koleji instills a strong sports culture, one of the essential dynamics of life, in young people. Our students achieve success at local, national and international levels across various disciplines.
In addition to physical education classes, our students can also participate in individual and team sports through extracurricular activities and become licensed athletes within the İTK Sports Club, training under the guidance of our professional coaching staff.
While supporting students’ physical health, sports also positively influence their mental performance and enhance academic success. Young people who channel their energy into sports develop longer attention spans in the classroom. Through regular physical activity, they strengthen their physical well-being while gaining values such as self-confidence, discipline and team spirit.
At Türk Koleji, sports represent not only physical strength but also mental and emotional strength. Built on discipline, perseverance, solidarity and fair competition, sports play a significant role in our students’ character development. Türk Koleji students embrace sports-oriented values and enter life as healthy, disciplined and socially strong individuals.
The regular and structured practice of sports instills disciplined work habits in our youth, fostering a goal-oriented mindset and a strong drive to succeed. By developing a sense of responsibility and time management through their training sessions, our students seamlessly transfer these achievements to both their academic and daily lives.
Gaining experience across various sports disciplines, our students become aware of their physical strength and discover their true potential. In doing so, they acquire the discipline necessary to steer clear of risks and develop effective stress-management strategies.
While strengthening a culture of collaboration, our students also cultivate empathy, respect, and communication skills. Within the framework of sportsmanship, this environment encourages respect for the rules, the maturity to handle both victory and defeat gracefully, and the development of strong ethical values. Ultimately, our students learn to define success not merely by the final score, but by the effort they exert, the attitude they display, and their ethical stance.
